To get started, simply upload your image using the upload button on the top right of your screen. Select the images, click upload to staging and click done. A summery will appear of the completed task and a notification will also be added to confirm the upload is complete.
Now that you have images added to your staging environement, we need to add a collection. A collection is where all your processing happens. It's also where you can see a summery of images clicks, click though rate, impressions etc. To add a collection, simply press the add collection button next to the upload button.
Let's add the recently uploaded images to this collection, so we can process them and get those clicks showing! You'll find an "Add Images" button on the buttom right of the collection. Click this button and a popout will appear. Select the images you can to add to this collection and click add. The collection card will change and show you a preview of the images. Also, the "Add Images" button will change to a "Actions" buttons. You can add more images at any time, however you cannot add images that are already in a collection. Don't worry, if the image is in another collection, it simply won't let you add the image. This is so the image performance data remains collection specific and no data drifts between collections - making these collections accurate and real-time!
Now that images are in the collection, we need to run them though some processing to extract data from them. You have a few options:
We'll discuss these in detail in another section but for now, all you need to know is selecting these options will tell URLMagic to detect faces, text or whatever options you have selected. These are all saved and can be viewed later.
Click on the "Extract AI Meta Data" button and the processing will start. Once complete a summary will show and a second step, "Create SEO URL's". Click this button and the URL's will auto generate, alt text will be added and the resulting URL will use information generated from the processing step. This is done completely automatically and is designed for best in class SEO, without any configuration.
Before you add the images to your website, add our tracking script. This is ready to go and can be placed anywhere inside the head tags of your website (whereever the images are placed). You'll find the script inside the settings section. Click on the cog icon on the top right of the screen, next to your name. A side panel will popout from the right, click on "tracking script" drop down and copy the script using the copy button. Add this near the top within the head section of your website and that's done!
Everything is now good to go; add your images to your website and they will automatically report back to you. To add images to your website, simply navigate back to the collection that holds the images in question, find the image, click on the "actions" button, click on view details, a side pannel will popout, click copy next to URL and Path and paste this into whereever the iamge needs to load. Note, this full path needs to be added, not the direct URL inside the text box. It will look something like this:

Add this to whereever you want the image to load on your website and whenever it's loaded, clicked etc the collection and reports section will show the events, in real time!
All done. The images will report back to you via the collection and the reports section. If you can any feedback or feature requests please join our community Slack Channel and we'll be happy to discuss these as well as any questions. Thanks for choosing URLMagic.

On average, images account for up to (60-75%) of a webpage's total payload. Industry audits and performance testing tools frequently reveal that oversized images result in 1MB to 2MB of unnecessary data waste per page load, directly harming Core Web Vitals like Largest Contentful Paint (LCP). URLMagic detects and displays this here.
LCP stands for Largest Contentful Paint. It is a Core Web Vitals metric that measures the time it takes for the largest image or text block visible in the viewport to fully load. Lower is better - between 200 and 300 is good
